Mario Fleurima Jr. is a former American professional basketball player who last played for the Dominican Republic. Mario was drafted second round in the NBL Canadian league in 2017 which ultimately led to a substantial 6 year overseas basketball career. Mario spent most of his playing career in Barcelona Spain where he led his team in scoring, rebounds and steals. Mario attended college at Murry State College ( NJCAA Division1 ) where he averaged 10.7 points a game. Transferring to St. Peters University ( NCAA D1 ) in 2015, Mario ultimately finished his college career at The University of Texas Permian Basin ( NCAA D2 ) where he averaged 4.7 points a game playing behind West Virgina guard Billy D Williams. Throughout Mario's career he's been featured on Ballislife, Overtime, SLAM and worked out with numerous of NBA teams including the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. While doing so Mario managed to build strong relations amongst NBA officials, coaches and scouts. After leaving school his junior year to play professionally overseas, Mario managed to graduate early with a degree in Nursing and continues to show promise and dedication to change the lives of others on and off the court.

Skill development, strength conditioning and mental toughness are some of the key vocal points for coach Mario. After coaching part time in the La Liga 12U in Barcelona Spain Mario picked up some unique European tactics which he continues to utilize on American players. These methods are the same forefronts utilized nationwide by the highest organizations including the NBA. " We at Level up prep believe that each and every one of our players is on a road to success. Our mission is to facilitate and help athletes maintain their pace." Mario went on to explain " Do not come here and become satisfied with being average. One of the crucial lessons I've learned at the collegiate and professional level is to never surrender, never give up on your hopes and dreams. I know it is easier said than done, but we are here to provide assistance, and we'll keep pushing you forward."
Athletes signing to collegiate institutions has been a direct result in working with coach Mario. Players such as Jahleel Hanley (Olive Harvey College) 2019, Sam Griffin (Tulsa University) 2021 and Ernest Brima (SUNY Alster University) 2022 are some of the most recent athletes.
Mario was born in Boston Massachusetts but grew up in West Palm Beach Florida, raised by a single mother and four siblings Mario transferred to multiple high schools throughout his teens. Finally residing, he played for Santaluces Community Highschool where he averaged 13.4 points a game under legendary Head Coach Reggie Dixon. Mario's high school basketball career was extremely rough, only receiving one college offer to a Junior College in Chicago Illinois. Perseverance and hard work were everything to Mario, during his quest to achieve collegiate aspirations Mario suffered the loss of his father and sister which ultimately fueled him even more. Mario is currently living in Sunrise Florida where he fathers 3-year-old son (Mario Fleurima 3rd).
